pumice

A natural building material

The density of the Hekla pumice is exceptionally low. The incredible pore structure of the Hekla pumice is the natural key to the production of a number of building products which have unique qualities. Some of the very best insulating blocks available for exterior walls are made from JEI's Hekla pumice.

Because the pumice expanded in a volcanic eruption, no energy is wasted in order to expand the pumice. In addition to being resistant to expansion, the pumice is tremendously heat resistant.

These qualities make the Hekla pumice the ideal aggregate for the production of high quality chimney and fireplace units.
